The School Guidance Counsellor co-ordinates the guidance and
counselling programme in the school and is involved in three key
guidance areas:
° Personal
° Educational
° Careers
The Guidance Counsellor is available to all students and parents for
individual consultation on an on-going basis throughout the academic
year where appropriate referrals are made to educational psychologists,
learning support teachers etc.

if necessary, suitable remedial intervention is arranged. Students are
also informed of the educational and career implications of subject
choice as they progress into Second Year.
Third and fourth Year classes take aptitude and interest tests to assist with subject choice for the Leaving Certificate. All students at this level attend comprehensive modules on subject selection and are then individually interviewed by the Guidance Counsellor.
Leaving Certificate Students take aptitude and interest tests, attend modules on career choice and CAO process. All Leaving Certificates receive an in-depth guidelines interview. Information Evenings are provided for 3rd year and 6th year parents.
