School Musicals
In 1999 C.B.S. production of Lionel Bart’s much loved OLIVER in the Premier Hall, Thurles witnessed the revival of a school tradition dormant since the 1950′s.
Music has been an ever- expanding feature of school life culminating in the school concerts at Christmas and musicals interludes in the various production aspects and the enthusiastic audience.The C.B.S. is fortunate to have on staff people with the gifts of show production, stage design, set construction and stage management.
Over recent years SOUTH PACIFIC, PAINT YOUR WAGON, GUYS AND DOLLS, ME & MY , OKLAHOMA, GREASE, and BUGSY MALONE. in 2007 “BUDDY” the Buddy Holly story was staged for the first time in the republic. It proved a huge success drawing full houses over four nights. This year we staged ALL SHOOK UP, it was a very lively show and pleased audiences from far and near
