Cusack Shield

Congratulations to our under-15 footballers on successfully defeating Comeragh College in the final of the Cusack Shield on Thursday week last. The game was played at a well appointed Cahir ground and after an entertaining first half the sides went in level at the interval. The second half saw Thurles assert their dominance and a combination of some fine scores and some intricate interplay led to a final winning scoreline of 3-13 to 3-05. This was the school’s first victory in the Cusack Shield since 2005 when the team was jointly captained by Peter Ryan and Matthew Greene. This year’s captain, Brian Dwan and his squad of dedicated players trained assiduously all year and this victory was a suitable reward for their exertions. Well done to all involved.
