Schoolbooks Scheme
As part of the Department of Education’s Schoolbooks Scheme, all schoolbooks and core classroom resources will be provided for students. If a students loses a school book then they have to replace it themselves. If a student loses a calculator they must replace it. It is important to note that all books are provided on loan and must be returned at the end of third year in good condition.

It is important to note that in line with our Book Scheme Policy the cost of lost / excessively damaged books is borne by the student / parents.
Stationery Provision
CBS Thurles will provide a standard stationery pack for all students. This pack is intended to cover basic stationery needs for academic purposes. Parents/guardians should be aware that the provided stationery pack may not fully cover the total stationery and equipment requirements for all subjects.
List of stationery that will be supplied in CBS Thurles 2027
- 1 School Journal
- 10 A4 copybooks
- 1 display A4 plastic folder
- 1 plastic zip A4 folder
- 1 set of ledgers/journals/cash book required for accounting/business studies
- 1 Science A4 copy book for Science
- 1 music Manuscript copybook
- 1 set of grammar books
- 1 maths formulae & tables/log book (to remain assigned to that student for the Junior cycle)
- 1 scientific calculator and 1 maths set
- Dictionary/(ies) (to remain assigned to that student for the duration/remainder of the Junior Cycle)
